We have our first look at Melissa Benoist's outfit in the new Supergirl series, and costume designer Colleen Atwood has really outdone herself!
As noted here by The Mary Sue, the costume is very cute and works perfectly with the adorable Benoist without being oversexualized or unnecessarily skimpy. Hit the jump to see the full outfit.
Benoist, fresh off of her brief but enjoyable stint as Marley Rose on Fox's Glee, spent some time recently with fellow Supergirl cast member Helen Slater -- one of the previous women to play the Kryptonian -- as she gets ready for the series.
The series, which features Benoist as well as cast members such as Slater, Dean Cain, Calista Flockhart, and Chyler Leigh, among others, is in production by Warner Bros. TV. Supergirl clearly already shares staff with sister series Arrow and The Flash, for which Atwood also designs costumes.
The Supergirl production team also reportedly announced the casting of Star Trek, Elysium, and Iron Man actor Faran Tahir (And all around nicest guy in the world -Ed) as a yet-unnamed alien military expert - let the anticipation engines and rampant guessing commence with our blessing!
