Josh Brolin is Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy!

"To attack them is to court Death..."

That moment, that turn and smile from the end credits of the first Avengers film has teased us for more than a year now. The moment Thanos made his presence known, even for half a second, comic book fans the world over have wondered how and when the Mad Titan would appear and wreck our heroes' day. Now, thanks to Latino Review, we know.
Thanos WILL be in Guardians of the Galaxy. We've all suspected this for some time, given both Drax and Gamora's relationships to him. But now, we know who's playing him, too. And it's this guy.

Josh Brolin. Marvel continues their ability to cast huge Hollywood stars in roles you'd never expect. This is fantastic news. What we don't know, so far, is whether Brolin will be in makeup, motion capture, or just providing the voice a la Bradley Cooper or Vin Diesel. Either way, we're excited to see where this goes.

"But wait," I hear you say, "How can they be casting him now, when the movie comes out in a few months?" Apparently, he's been cast for a while, and they're just announcing it now. Either way, they produced the entire film before they cast Cooper and Diesel as the voices of Rocket and Groot, so this could be a case of that, too. I'm guessing Thanos is more of a cameo in Guardians.

What do you think? Is Brolin a good choice? Sound off in the comments.
