Civil War has Ant-Man, is Basically Avengers 3

Marvel put out a press release today announcing the full cast of Captain America: Civil War...and it is a lot of people. There's a full team of Avengers, plus all of Cap's supporting cast, plus Ant-Man, plus Black Panther, plus Sharon Carter and whoever Martin Freeman is playing. I haven't seen a movie this stuffed that wasn't called "The Avengers" before. And since the storyline of this film involves the Avengers and the consequences of their actions, I'm left to wonder how this is a Captain America movie at all. The good news is, it's Marvel. Second Trailer for Ant Man Brings the Tiny, Tiny Pain

Marvel's next Big Gamble's second trailer hit the internet this morning. Ant Man, let's be honest, has never been a big player in the Marvel Universe. Despite all the major storylines Hank Pym has been a part of - helping found the Avengers, creating Ultron - he's always relegated to one side while Iron Man, Captain America and Thor get all the credit. Will this movie change all that, and make Ant Man into a star? That remains to be seen. The trailers have both been a bit concerning. Hit the jump to see the trailer and our analysis.

Who will be the All New, All Different Avengers?

Marvel released a nice little teaser today for their Free Comic Book Day issue of their All-New, All-Different Avengers, with two members revealed and four in shadow. Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion Launch Campaign for Convention-based Comedy

Do you miss Firefly? Well, join the rest of the galaxy in continuing to wait. But if you miss the actors from Firefly, wait no longer! (Or rather, wait a little longer.) The hilarious Alan Tudyk and his sidekick, Nathan Fillion, have teamed up to produce Con Man, a comedy about what it's like to be an actor from a cancelled-too-soon science fiction series working the convention circuit. It's a real stretch for them, let me tell you.

The promotional video on their IndieGoGo Page promises appearances from Felicia Day, Gina Torres, James Gunn and Seth Green, with more surprises to come as they raise more money, I'd imagine. Right now, the total they're looking for is only to produce the first three, ten minute episodes, but if they smash their funding goals they'll produce the whole series, and build a spaceship.

Nintendo Wasn't Ready to Be in the Toy Business

This past week, Nintendo held a call for their investors. This is standard practice for a public company, but as the contents of the call are public knowledge, it's usually a great way for fans of a company to get access to new information. As Nintendo fans all over the world hunkered for new details on the upcoming Zelda game, or Nintendo's efforts to bring their games to smartphone apps, one new detail made itself perfectly clear: Nintendo just isn't ready to be a toy company.

Ever wanted to see Superman fight The Lone Ranger? Well, now you kinda can. Guy Ritchie, the man who brought us the best Sherlock Holmes films in recent memory (I said films, calm down Cumberbitches) is directing an adaptation of the 60s Spy TV show, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. with Henry Cavill and Armand Hammer (I know he goes by Armie, but when your parents give you that good of a pun for a name I'm gonna use it.) The film looks absolutely stylish as all get out - check out the trailer after the jump.

Marvel's Movie Schedule through 2019 revealed!

Marvel Studios, the folks behind the monster hits The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy, had a special press event today to announce something "secret." Speculation ranged from announcing actors in specific films to announcing their entire slate for the next few years. Well, it turns out...they did all of that.

Marvel needs to stop making Ant-Man. NOW.

When I heard that Marvel wanted to make an Ant-Man movie, I named about twenty other Marvel characters I'd rather see. Characters like Moon Knight, Cloak and Dagger, Iron Fist come to mind. Or, I dunno, any other D-List super hero really. Ant-Man's thing is he gets really really small or really really big. Last time I checked, there weren't a lot of Kaiju in the Marvel universe, but maybe if Bruce Banner got a tick bite or something then he'd be useful.

Then I found out that Edgar Wright was going to be directing it. The guy behind the Cornetto Trilogy and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World? And got Paul Rudd and Michael freaking Douglass to star in it? Ok, Marvel, your ability to get interesting directors and actors has made me want to see the Ant-Man movie and I'm a little pissed that you duped me into it. I don't like being tricked into things, you damn crafty Marvel bastards!
