The "One True King": Meet Jason Momoa as Aquaman

Last night, Zack Snyder tossed us one of those crumbs that reminds us a picture is worth a thousand words. So far, from our staff, those words were, "I'll be in my bunk," ".....Oh my god," and "This picture goes in my special collection." No female staff have responded to the image yet. Take a look:

Snyder’s current work, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, sets up an entire franchise of Justice League and Justice League-related films. Momoa is currently best known for his turns as Ronon Dex on Stargate: Atlantis and the incredibly well-received Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones, so the news that he would take the Aquaman role was very welcome — and that few worried about Aquaman falling into the erstwhile “Aquaman as punchline” role in Justice League.

This is Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and he is an Atlantean-armored, tattoo-bearing, smouldering-staring, trident-wielding badass.

Should Snyder follow the comics and have the King of Atlantis take over as the chair of the Justice League, that would mean more Aquaman at the fore of DC’s premier superhero team.

We’ll come back to you, Ben Affleck, but shhhh.  We need a minute.
