Ace of Geeks vs Found in the Alley: Movie Draft Super War Update 3!

Update 1!
Update 2!

Welcome back to the next update of the Ace of Geeks and Found in the Alley Movie Draft Super War! Previously, the Ace of Geeks had a commanding lead, leaving our comrades at Found in the Alley in the dust and looking well on our way to winning the whole summer. But the movie business is a fickle one. Did the FitA boys find a comeback since then? Have the tides turned? Read on to find out!

Here are the rules, as always: Only the opening weekend of a film counts, from Friday to Sunday. The total combined dollars of all of our picks will be added up, and at the end of the summer we'll see both which podcast won, and who the winner of each duo was. Bragging rights, and other, more sinister prizes are at stake. Listen to the podcast that started it all for more.

Robert Fulkerson - Found in the Alley - 34,644,211
Robert currently has the lowest score of anyone in the draft. This is mostly due to the fact that August is going to be his month and his alone, with movies like Guardians of the Galaxy and Sin City 2 hitting at around the same time. Until then, he has to play the waiting game and hope the rest of us don't drift too far ahead for him to catch up. Now I just have an image of Robert staring at the google doc every week, biting his nails and sweating.

Ryan Burton - Found in the Alley - 181,585,070
Ryan took a huge boost this week from the startling success of Maleficent. While $70 million isn't exactly box office busting numbers, Ryan only spent six of his points to get a film none of us thought would do that well. He now finds himself within striking distance of the lead, despite the poor performance of his other film from this weekend, A Million Ways to Die in the West.

Jarys Maragopoulos - The Ace of Geeks - 184,692,989
Jarys is still in the lead, thanks to the incredible performance of X-men: Days of Future Past.  However, Ryan is now only three million dollars behind, and Jarys's upcoming releases, like Jupiter Ascending and the Giver, are all gambles. Can he hold on to his lead by the skin of his teeth, or will Ryan pry it out of his grasp?

Mike Fatum - The Ace of Geeks - 121,770,391
Mike's tapped out. The only movies he has coming up are Sex Tape and How to Train Your Dragon 2, making him clearly the worst bidder of the pack. Unless Dragon 2 makes a gazillion dollars, don't look for this dark horse to walk away the victor. But you never know, comedies and kids' films can sometimes surprise you. Mike spends every week hoping that Guardians of the Galaxy will make a ton of money and dreading what he'll have to do if it does.

Found in the Alley Total - 216,229,281
The Ace of Geeks Total - 306,463,380
The Ace of Geeks is still $100 million ahead, but who knows how long that will last? Stay tuned here for more updates, and check out the Google Doc for the full numbers!
